1,375,151 CANDIDATES TO APPEAR IN THE CET EXAM, TRICYCLES AND OTHER TRANSPORT USED BY DISABLED CANDIDATES MUST BE ALLOWED INSIDE EXAM CENTERS: HARYANA CS

In order to ensure the seamless conduct of the forthcoming CET Group-D written examination in Haryana, scheduled for October 21 and 22, the Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, presided over a virtual meeting with Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of the state here today.
The Chief Secretary said that this examination encompasses a total of 13,536 posts which were advertised by Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) and 1,375,151 candidates are set to participate in 798 Examination centres. The examination will be conducted over two sessions each day, with the morning session from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM and the afternoon session from 03:00 PM to 04:45 PM. The scale of this operation is substantial, accommodating about 3,44,000 candidates per session over the two days. The examination centers have been strategically established in Chandigarh and across 17 districts within Haryana, ensuring widespread accessibility for candidates. These districts include Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Gurugram, Faridabad, Kaithal, Hisar, Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Palwal, Mewat at Narnaul, and Rewari. The candidate's Admit Card will serve as a complimentary travel pass to the examination center.
Accessibility for PwD Candidates:
Mr. Kaushal issued a directive to the Deputy Commissioners, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that tricycles and other means of transport used by physically challenged candidates are provided with unobstructed access to the examination center rooms. However, this time efforts have been made to facilitate physically challenged candidates to get the examination centre in their own district so that they do not have to travel long distances and do not face any kind of inconvenience.
In line with inclusivity and fairness, specific seating arrangements for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates will be made on the ground floors of examination centers. Adequate arrangement should be made for Physically Challenged Candidate. Additional provisions include the availability of scribes and compensatory time, aligning with the rules and regulations. Similarly, efforts will be made for girls to be allotted examination centers in their own or adjoining districts.
Security arrangements and transportation assistance for candidates
The Chief Secretary said that since the examination is being conducted by NTA, they will keep the question paper in the bank as per their Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). While bringing and carrying the question paper, adequate security arrangements should be ensured. CCTV live streaming control room will be set up in each examination centre.
In a proactive endeavor to ensure the smooth conduct of the forthcoming CET Group-D written examination in Haryana, the Chief Secretary has also made significant announcements to facilitate candidates' journey and overall examination experience.
In order to provide hassle-free journey to and from the examination centers, he directed the Transport Department to ensure the availability of an adequate number of buses in all districts.. Furthermore, complimentary traveling services will be extended to all candidates based on the presentation of their Admit Card.
He said that arrangements for lodging will also be ensured for the candidates. He directed the Deputy Commissioners to mark Dharamshalas in their respective districts and ensure complete arrangements by coordinating with social and religious institutions as well.
Sh. Kaushal directed the Deputy Commissioners to implement Section-144 within a radius of 500 meters from the examination centers for the CET examination. Apart from this, coaching centers and printing, stationery shops should remain closed. He directed that the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police should visit the examination centres a day before. Security arrangements of examination centres should be ensured. The invigilator will not allow carrying their mobile phones. There will be no parking facility within 200 meters of the examination centres. Apart from this, arrangements for ambulances and ERV vehicles of Dial-112 should also be kept on alert.
The Chief Secretary also directed the officials to ensure that all arrangements are made in a timely and efficient manner to ensure a smooth and hassle-free examination experience for all candidates.
Amid the ongoing festival season, Mr. V. Umashankar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, has issued clear directives to the officers of the transport department. He directed them to ensure seamless arrangement of buses to facilitate travel to examination centers. In his instructions, he emphasized the importance of specifying the center names and districts with precision, ensuring candidates encounter no confusion in their journey.
Chairman, Haryana Staff Selection Commission, Bhopal Singh, Director General Police, Mr. Shatrujeet Kapur , Principal Secretary, Transport Department, Sh. Navdeep Virk, Special Secretary, Human Resources Department, Mr. Aditya Dahiya and other senior officers of NTA and Staff selection Commissioner were present in the meeting.
