A team of Special Cell/NR & STF, led by Inspr. Mandeep and Inspr. Jaibir, under the supervision of Sh. Ved Prakash, ACP/NR, and Sh. Rajiv Ranjan Singh, DCP/NR & STF, Special Cell, Delhi, has arrested an active and desperate gang member of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi/Goldy Brar/Monu Dagar crime syndicate, namely Anjeet (37), s/o Sh. Ranbir Singh, r/o Sonepat, Haryana. He was declared proclaimed offender in many cases and has been evading court proceedings for a long time. He was also wanted in a case of the Arms Act and attempted dacoity in Haryana. One semi-automatic pistol of .32 bore along with five live cartridges was recovered from him.
The Special Cell, Northern Range, has been assigned the task of apprehending the hardcore criminals and sharpshooters of the organized crime syndicates involved in sensational cases of murder, attempt to murder, extortion, robbery, carjacking, etc. in Delhi and adjoining states. Information was continuously being received through reliable sources regarding the movements of such criminals. To
further develop such raw information, sources were carefully selected and deployed, and intensive surveillance was mounted. In this process, specific information was received about the movement of Anjeet, a close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi/Goldy Brar/Monu Dagar, near Heliport, Rohini, Delhi.
(SUBHEAD)Acting swiftly on the information, a dedicated team of NR & STF swung into action, and a trap was laid near Heliport, and accused Anjeet was apprehended with one semi-automatic pistol of .32 bore with five live cartridges. A criminal case under the Arms Act has been registered in this regard.
INTERROGATION AND CRIMINAL HISTORY : Mr. H.G.S. Dhaliwal, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police,
Special Cell, , said, upon interrogation, it emerged that accused Anjeet is a permanent resident of Village Bhatgaon, Sonepat, Haryana. His father was a truck driver and expired in 2001. He studied up to the 12th grade. After his schooling, he shifted to the house of his maternal uncle in the Singhu Border area, where he came into contact with suppliers of illegal drugs. Soon, he got involved in the supply of illegal drugs. Consequently, he remained in jail on several occasions.
In 2016, while he was in Sonepat Jail, he came into contact with one Monu Dagar, a close aide of Anmol Bishnoi/Goldy Brar. Soon, they became fast friends. After coming out of jail, he remained in contact with Monu Dagar through Facebook, and through Monu Dagar, he came into contact with Anmol Bishnoi and Goldy Brar.
In January 2023, he was tasked with kidnapping a travel agent in Karnal for extortion by Anmol Bishnoi, but the plan failed when co-accused persons were apprehended by the police in Panipat. However, he managed to escape. He conducted reconnaissance on a number of Lawrence Gang targets. He was also tasked with doing a recce of a businessman in Gurugram by Goldy Brar. Anjeet has also been declared P.O. in various cases registered against him in Sonepat, Haryana, as he has been evading court proceedings for a long time.
