THE ACCUSED WERE WANTED IN AN EXTORTION CASE OF PS KOTWALI WHEREIN THEY DEMANDED Rs. 20 LAKHS FROM A MERCAHNT BASED IN OLD DELHI, TWO SINGLE SHOT PISTOLS ALONG WITH 04 LIVE CARTRIDGES RECOVERED, ALL THE ARRESTED ACCUSED PERSONS ARE HABITUAL OFFENDERS AND ARE PREVIOUSLY INVOLVED IN MULTIPLE CRIMINAL CASES IN DELHI.

A team of Special Cell/Northern Range, led by Inspr. Arvind Kumar and Inspr. Man Singh under the supervision of Shri Ved Parkash, ACP, Spl. Cell/NR & STF and under overall guidance of Sh. Rajiv Ranjan Singh, DCP/NR & STF, Spl. Cell has arrested three dreaded criminals and sharpshooters of notorious Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate namely Udit Sadh s/o Late Umesh Sadh r/o East Azad Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Delhi (Age 31 Years), Anish Kumar @ Mintu s/o Late Sohan Lal r/o Nangloi, Delhi (Age 42 Years), Mohit Gupta s/o Prakash Chandra Gupta r/o Nihal Vihar, Delhi (Age 27 Years), who were wanted in an extortion case of PS Kotwali, Delhi.
As per the directions of senior officers, a team of Special Cell/NR was tasked with busting the nexus of Lawrence Bishnoi and the Goldy Brar Gang operating in Delhi/NCR. The team worked relentlessly day and night and, through manual and technical surveillance, managed to gather valuable information about the associates of the dreaded criminals who are operating from behind bars.
Recently, on June 23, 2023, one merchant based in Lajpat Rai Market received an extortion call, and accused persons threatened the complainant in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi and demanded ₹ 20 Lakhs as protection money. In this regard, FIR No. 558/23 dated 29.06.2023 u/s 387/506 IPC was registered at PS Kotwali, Delhi.
In view of the sensitivity of the case, the team of the Special Cell, Northern Range, also started working on the said case. The efforts of the team bore fruit when they came to know that three notorious criminals of the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi Gang were involved in the above-mentioned incident.
Thereafter, coordinated raids were conducted by the team of the Special Cell/NR on the suspected hideouts of the accused persons in the areas of Delhi/NCR, UP, Punjab and Gujarat. The criminals were using all possible ways to remain elusive, and it was very difficult to keep a constant tab on their movements as they were changing their mobile numbers and hideouts quite frequently to avoid their arrest. However, the team did not lose patience and kept on chasing them.
Mr.H.G.S. Dhaliwal, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police Special Cell, said, finally on July 3, 2023, with the continuous painstaking efforts of the team, specific input was received that accused persons who are involved in the extortion case of PS Kotwali would come near Gate No. 3 of Japanese Park, Rohini to discuss their next course of action as the complainant refused to pay the extortion money.
(SUBHEAD)Thereafter, a team comprising SIs Manish Kumar, Neeraj Chahal, Shiv Mangal, HCs Rajiv, Manjeet, Vikas, Ramjas, Rohit, Cts Sonu, and Vipin laid a trap, and at about 10:20 P.M., when all the accused persons gathered there, they were apprehended with the coordinated efforts of the team. They were identified as (1) Udit Sadh r/o East Azad Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Delhi (Age 31 years), (2) Anish Kumar @ Mintu r/o Nangloi, Delhi (Age 42 years), (3) Mohit Gupta r/o Nihal Vihar, Delhi (Age 27 years). During their cursory search, two single shot pistols and four live cartridges were recovered from their possession. Accordingly, a case under relevant provisions of law was registered at PS Special Cell, New Delhi, and investigation was taken up.
BACKGROUND AND CRIMINAL HISTORY: Udit Sadh s/o Late Umesh Sadh
• Accused Udit Sadh’s father has already expired, and his mother lives with his sister, who is based in Surat, Gujarat. He has studied up to 11th grade and is unmarried. He used to sell clothes in the whole sale market and also ran a shop in Lajpat Rai Market, Old Delhi, in the past. He knew a number of whole-sale dealers in that area and used to visit them frequently.
Due to their close proximity, he also has their mobile numbers.Then, to make easy and fast money, he started cheating the people on one or another pretext and went to jail for the first time in 2015 in a case of cheating lodged at PS Subzi Mandi, Delhi.
He again went to jail in another case of PS Krishna Nagar, Delhi. In jail, he met with co-accused Anish Kumar and also met with the members of the dreaded Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Thereafter, he, along with his associates Anish Kumar and Mohit Gupta, hatched a criminal conspiracy to threaten the innocent merchants in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi, as they knew that they would get the extortion money easily in his name.
Thereafter, they made a number of threatening calls to one merchant based in Lajpat Rai Market, in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi and demanded Rs. 20 Lakhs from him. They used to call the complainant from a nearby area of Tihar Jail, so it was presumed by the Police and the complainant that the alleged caller was based in Tihar Jail. He also arranged for illegally made pistols and live cartridges to threaten the complainant.
Anish Kumar s/o Late Sunder Lal
Accused Anish Kumar’s father has already expired and he lives along with his mother, wife and 3 children. His wife works as a maid. He has studied up to grade 6. He recently came out of jail and is currently unemployed.
Accused Anish Kumar and his associates kidnapped and raped one minor girl and were arrested in case FIR No. 167/2013 u/s 363/376/376-D/34 IPC, and 4 POCSO Act, PS Nangoi, Delhi. After getting bail in this case, he, along with his associates, wrongfully confined one person and extorted ₹ 40 Lakhs from him in Uttam Nagar area.
Thereafter, he was convicted for his involvement in case FIR No. 167/2013 mentioned above. In jail, he met with co-accused Udit Sadh and also met with the members of the dreaded Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Thereafter, he, along with his associates Udit and Mohit Gupta, hatched a criminal conspiracy to threaten the innocent merchants in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi and made a number of threatening calls to one businessman based in Lajpat Rai Market, Delhi, and demanded ₹ 20 Lakhs from him.
Mohit Gupta s/o Prakash Chandra Gupta
Accused Mohit Gupta’s parents reside in his native village in Uttar Pradesh. He has studied up to 8th grade and used to work in a hotel in Noida. He is currently unemployed.
The Accused has been involved in a number of cases of robbery and has spent almost eight years in jail. After coming out of jail, he worked in a shop owned by the co-accused, Udit Sadh. Thereafter, he, along with his associates Anish Kumar and Udit Sadh, hatched a criminal conspiracy to extort money from a businessman of Old Delhi in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi and made a number of threatening calls to him and demanded Rs. 20 Lakhs. He provided the SIM cards to make the threatening calls and recce the spot.
Further interrogation of the arrested accused and investigation of the present case is in progress.
