South Western Range of Special Cell, Delhi has busted an inter-state drugs cartel with the arrest of two drug traffickers namely Dharmender Kumar s/o Dukhan Yadav (Age-26 yrs) and Visheshwar Yadav s/o Ramesh Yadav (Age-40 yrs), both residents of Chatra, Jharkhand. On search, 1.505 Kg of fine quality Heroin and 2.216 Kg Tramadol powder have been recovered from their possession.
In order to curb the menace of drug trafficking in Delhi/NCR, a team of Inspr. Manender Singh, Inspr. Somil Sharma, Inspr. Sunil and Inspr. Neeraj was tasked to act against the inter-state drug suppliers. With a view to achieve this objective, sources were deployed to gather information about the drug traffickers who are supplying drugs to Delhi/NCR areas and have network spread across the country.
(SUBHEAD)The persistent efforts of the team paid off when on 23/06/2023, specific information was received that one Dharmender r/o Jharkhand along with another cartel member would come to Sarai Kale Khan area to deliver a huge consignment of drugs to their associates in Delhi. Immediately, a raiding team led by Sh. Sanjay Dutt, ACP/SWR consisting of Inspr. Manender Singh, Inspr. Neeraj Kumar, SI Vaseek Ahmad, ASI Resham, HC Mukesh, HC Ravinder, HC Ravi, HC Sanjay, HC Atul, HC Hemant, HC Kapil, Ct Vijay and Ct Sandhya was constituted under the overall supervision of DCP/SWR and a trap was laid in Sarai Kale Khan area and two persons namely Dharmender Kumar s/o Dukhan Yadav r/o Chatra, Jharkhand (Age-26 yrs) and Visheshwar Yadav s/o Ramesh Yadav r/o Chatra, Jharkhand (Age-40 yrs) were apprehended in an unnumbered white Creta Car. On preliminary enquiry, the accused Dharmender and Visheshwar Yadav confessed that they were carrying Heroin and Tramadol with them. Thereafter, 1505 grams of fine quality Heroin and 2126 grams of Tramadol powder were recovered at their instance from the Creta Car. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered at PS Special Cell in this regard and investigation was taken up. During course of investigation, both the accused persons were arrested in the case.
MODUS OPERANDI AND INTERROGATION: Mr. H.G.S. Dhaliwal, IPS, Spl. Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, said, on sustained interrogation of the accused persons, it came out that they had come to Delhi to supply Heroin at the behest/instructions of one Dinesh Yadav, who is the kingpin of the network. It was further revealed that they all are engaged in opium cultivation in the remote areas of Chatra, Jharkhand.
Thereafter, they manufactured Heroin by processing the opium by using chemicals available in local markets. The accused further divulged that the Tramadol powder is added to the Heroin to increase it’s quantity. After the Heroin is prepared, Dinesh Yadav supplies it to various parts of the country including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi/NCR with the help of his associates. Both the accused Dharmender and Visheshwar Yadav are habitual offenders and are previously involved in three drug trafficking cases. Further efforts are being made to nab the kingpin Dinesh Yadav.
