With the arrest of two agents, the team of PS IGI Airport has busted an immigration racket and succeeded in solving a case vide FIR No. 334/23 dated 28.05.2023 U/s 420/120B/34 IPC, PS IGI Airport, Delhi. Further in continuation of its stringent drive against the agents involved in immigration frauds, the team of IGI Airport has been successful in arresting 09 more agents in 08 different cases in the last one month of May alone.
(MOREPIC1)(MOREPIC2)Moreover, a special drive to nab the POs/PPs who were hiding themselves deliberately, was launched under the leadership of both SHOs/IGIA and supervision of ACP/IGIA which resulting 21 POs/PPs were arrested/verified in 16 cases as well as 23 cases have been registered against Touts in which 26 Touts were arrested and 24 Vehicles were seized in the month of May, 2023.–
The present FIR was registered at P.S IGI Airport on the complaint of Insp Satish Kumar Yadav. In his complaint he stated that while he was on patrolling duty near Mahipalpur picket, he saw 10 persons were suspiciously standing there. They were asked about their presence, but they could not give any suitable reply.
On being asked to prove their identity, they could not produce any document. They were then brought to the police station for verification and their identity was established. All of them were found to be of Sri Lankan nationality. One of them namely Mahenthiraja was the sub-agent from Chennai who was guiding them on the directions of Agent Selvakulendran. They all were promised to be sent to Canada by cheating the Indian Immigration.(SUBHEAD)
In view of large-scale scams running worldwide, duping people on the pretext of sending them to foreign countries and bursting the whole nexus, a team consisting of IO/Insp Satish Kumar Yadav and HC Dinesh No. 289 /A was constituted under the leadership of Inspr. Yashpal Singh SHO/ IGI Airport and supervision of Sh. Virender Mor, ACP/IGI Airport with the specific tasks to locate the movement of alleged travel agents.
The team minutely scrutinized the modus operandi of the alleged agent. After careful analysis of the call records of arrested persons and through electronic surveillance, the team intercepted the location of alleged agent Selvakulendran in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. The team was immediately deployed for Trichy and agent Selvakulendran was arrested. He was thoroughly interrogated and on sustained interrogation, agent Selvakulendran disclosed that he charged Rs. 2 lakhs each from all of the passengers to facilitate them in sending them to Canada via IGI Airport, New Delhi. These Sri Lankan people were sent to him by his acquaintance in Sri Lanka namely Vijay.
RECOVERY: 02 Mobile Phones of the accused sub-agent namely Mahenthiraja himself and two Canadian Visa stickers in the name of two of the passengers were recovered from him and Two Indian Passports and Two Sri Lankan passports were recovered from agent Selvakulendran.

Mr. Devesh Kumar Mahlas, IPS, Dy. Commissioner of Police, IGI Airport, said, both the above agents are involved in facilitating the Sri Lankan nationals to illegally go to Canada via India. They are operating from Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka and facilitating people in settling down in foreign countries by unfair means.
Further, the IGI Airport unit is committed to its pledge to take stringent action against agents involved in immigration fraud and to protect people from being duped by fake immigration agencies. Apart from the above-mentioned agents, 09 more agents in 08 different cases in the last one month of May have been arrested. The details of the arrested agents are as under: –
In FIR No. 90/2020, Dated 12.02.20, U/S 419/420/468/471/120B IPC & 12 PP Act, PS IGI Airport, New Delhi agent Lalji Bhai s/o Ambalal R/o Parth Nagar, Bhatsan, Mehsana, Gujarat. was arrested on 03.05.2023. Agent Lalji Bhai was arrested and disclosed that he worked with another agent and used to provide willing passengers to him and charged Rs. 50,000/- per passenger as commission.
In FIR No. 294/2019, u/s U/S 419/420/468/471/120B IPC & 12 PP Act, PS IGI Airport, New Delhi agent Mahabubur Rashid S/o Mofazzel Hossain R/o 7/1 East Baniakhamar, Khulna Sadar 9100, Bangladesh, Mob: +8801302308879, Age 52 years was arrested on 04.05.2023. Passenger Sukhwinder Singh was promised to be sent to France by agent Imran Khan of Jaipur and further Imran Khan got the money transferred to Agent Mahabubur Rashid who arranged fake Schengen Visa.
In FIR No. 287/2023, U/S 420/468/471 IPC, PS IGI Airport, New Delhi agents 1. Jasvir Kaur w/o Ashok Kumar r/o Tehsil Bassipathana, Distt. Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab and 2. Satpal Singh S/o Sh. Karamjeet R/o Vill. Jawanda, Tehsil Bassipathana Distt. Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab were arrested on 06.05.2023. Both these Agents edited and provided the fake Dubai Tourist Visa to the passenger and charged Rs 40,000/- from him. Further investigation is in progress.
In FIR No. 197/2019, U/s 420/468/471/120B IPC & 12 PP Act, P.S IGI Airport agent namely Rajesh Kumar S/o Sh. Subhash Chand Sharma R/o H.No. 239, VIP Enclave, Dera Bassi, Chandigarh, Age 42 years was arrested on 09.05.2023. The agent Rajesh Kumar took the passenger to Gujarat for Biometrics on the instance of another agent Gurulagandeep Singh and they all charged Rs. 12 lakhs from him to send him to Netherlands. In FIR No. 15/2022, dated 09.01.2022, U/s 420/468/471 IPC & 12 Passport Act PS IGI Airport agent namely Suman Mamallan S/o Mamallan R/o 4/61, South Street, Melathiruppalakudi, Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu Age-40 years was arrested on 18.05.2023. The agent Suman Mamallan had provided the fake UK Visa to the passenger. Further investigation is in progress.
In FIR No. 322/2023 Dated 17.05.23 U/s 420/468/471 IPC, P.S IGI Airport agent namely Antony Joseph S/o Joseph A R/o Kambatti Kall, Mashilil, PO Kavadoor, Kollam Kerala, Age 31 years was arrested on 28.05.2023. In the present case, he had provided fake French Visa to the passenger and charged Rs.11 lakhs from him. Further investigation is in progress.
In FIR No. 330/2023 U/s 419/420/120B IPC, 12 PP Act & 14 Foreigner Act, PS IGI Airport agent namely Kamal Saha S/o Sh. Kanhaiya Lal Saha R/o 2/32/1, Jain Das Nagar, Belgharia, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, Age 50 Years was arrested on 29.05.2023. In the present case, agent Kamal Saha had arranged to make a Passport in the name of another person and charged Rs. 11 lakhs from the passengers. Further investigation is in progress.
In FIR No. 332/2023 U/s 419/420/468/471/120B IPC, 12 PP Act & 14 Foreigner Act, PS IGI Airport agent namely Chote Lal Kahar S/o Sh. Hari Lal Kahar R/o Vill. Sait Khanpur, Post & PS Kurebhar City, Sultanpur, UP Age 57 Years was arrested on 31.05.2023. In the present case, agent Chote Lal Kahar made a fake Aadhar Card of the passenger, on the basis of which, he got a PAN Card and Passport made on the fake identity in the name of another person. Further investigation is in progress.
