he Central Bureau of Investigation has today arrested an accused in an on-going investigation of a case related to Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Entrance Test (NORCET-4) held on 03.06.2023. The said accused allegedly played a role and is stated to be mastermind in the conspiracy.
A case was registered on 09.06.2023 against a private person and others on complaint from AIIMS, New Delhi. The AIIMS, New Delhi had conducted NORCET-4 (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Entrance Test) on 03.06.2023, at 300+ Centers all over India for recruitment of 3055 Nursing Officers for all AIIMS in India and some other Government Hospitals in Delhi. It was alleged that by evening of 05.06.2023, some tweets were being circulated on social media claiming therein leakage of question paper of NORCET-4 (held on 03.06.2023).(SUBHEAD)
It was further alleged that the modus-operandi used by accused was to replace the TFT (computer monitor) assigned to the candidate with a doctored monitor brought in the lab from outside by an accomplice. After examination, the doctored monitors were allegedly removed from the center. Through the doctored monitor, the computer display of the candidates was duplicated giving remote access to accused.
Searches were earlier conducted at 05 places including in Haryana, Chandigarh, Mohali & Delhi at the premises of the accused and also Examination Centre (at Mohali). During searches and investigation, the NVR (Network Video Recorder) containing CCTV footage, server laptops, CPUs of identified candidates, various mobile phones and dubious TFTs were recovered.
During investigation, four accused including candidate were earlier arrested on 15/ 16.06.2023. After Police Custody, they were sent to Judicial Custody by the Designated Court.
