An eye collection center, first of its kind in Sriganganagar and neighboring areas, was inaugurated at Jansewa Hospital on Sriganganagar-Hanumangarh Road in the Tantia University campus by Bikaner Division Commissioner Neeraj Pawan, Eye Bank Society of Rajasthan (EBSR) Chairman BL Sharma and Secretary LP Kothari, Brand Ambassador Nayab Middha and Anti-Corruption Bureau DSP Ved Prakash Lakhotia.
Pawan said that not only should the pledge forms for eye donation be filled, but it should also be implemented. He also advised to remove the misconceptions related to eye donation prevailing in the society.
(SUBHEAD)BL Sharma said that the biggest need for eye donation is awareness. We get more corneas from villages than from cities. There is more consciousness among the people in rural areas. Lalit Kothari appreciated the initiative to provide corneas to needy people. Brand ambassador Nayab Middha gave the message in her poetic language.
ACB DSP Lakhotia said that the people of this area have the spirit of service. Soon Sriganganagar district will emerge as the front runner in eye donation. Tantia University vice chairman Dr Mohit Tantia said the center will benefit people of Sriganganagar and neighboring segments of Abohar and Fazilka.
