Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Government of India is vigorously pursuing a policy of 'Zero Tolerance' against drugs. The Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah is committed to eliminating the drug problem and has repeatedly stressed and ordered to take the strongest possible measures for detection and demand/harm reduction.
The same is being sincerely implemented by Delhi Police under the guidance of LG Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena and Commissioner of Police Shri Sanjay Arora.
(SUBHEAD)Mr.Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police ANTF (Crime), Delhi, said on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (26th June) various programs are being organised by Delhi Police under “Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada” from 12th to 26th June, 2023.
On Monday MOU has been signed between XLRI, Jamshedpur and Delhi Police which includes drug related survey & future action plan. Prof. Sanjeev Varshney of XLRI and Shri Amit Goel, DCP/Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) shall be the nodal officers respectively to implement the MoU.
The objective of the MOU is to conduct research and develop an Anti-Drug Awareness Strategy for Delhi police keeping in view the specific nature of drug menace prevailing in NCT Delhi. Through this MOU, future action plan to deal with the menace of drug abuse will be prepared by adopting scientific and practical methods suggested by XLRI. Drug related surveys and how the drugs impact the lives of people by making them addicted will be done by XLRI. Suggestion and outcomes of the various experiments and surveys by XLRI will be implemented accordingly by making necessary improvement in policies.
The XLRI Jamshedpur shall conduct a ground survey on the issues related to drugs and identify the main points, which need to be touched in the campaign and prepare the content as per the issues identified for different groups. The XLRI shall also provide inputs for the media campaign and plan of action and also suggest improvements for CSR opportunities to run the campaign.
The XLRI shall also supervise the implementation of the campaign and plug in the loopholes and conduct a study of the outcome of campaign to assess its efficacy. In furtherance of the objectives of this MoU, the Delhi Police shall provide all assistance to the XLRI team in doing ground research as well as data and content related to action taken for content preparation.
This MOU is governed and construed as per the laws of India, the rules, regulations and policies and other applicable disciplinary rules and procedures of XLRI and Delhi Police, issued from time to time.
