MANJEET SINGH HONOURED WITH NATIONAL WATER AWARD

Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat at a function honoured Manjeet Singh, president of Water Users Association in Sriganganagar with second rank (Joint winner) in Best Water User Association category of the National Water Awards.

The National Water Awards aim to motivate organizations and individuals for their extraordinary contribution toward water conservation and water resources management and work toward the Govt's vision to create a Jal Samridh Bharat. Through these awards, the ministry looks to recognize innovative practices in rainwater harvesting water recycling, increasing the efficiency of water usage, and promoting awareness among the public.(SUBHEAD)

The govt had announced the 4th National Water Awards, 2022 for various categories in the field of water resources conservation and management.The awardees were felicitated by a trophy, citation and cash rewards as an acknowledgement to their efforts.

The award ceremony will be organized in due course, Manjeet Singh had made efforts to bring awareness among the farmers for judicious use of water by assisting in keeping water courses clean, prevent wastage by seepage and grow crops that require lesser quantity of water.
