Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal and MLA Narinder Pal Singh Sawna visited Bakainwala village that suffered damage caused by the wind storm.
MLA Sawna said that the Punjab government stands by the villagers in this difficult time and will provide all kinds of help to them. All the departments have been instructed to help the villagers.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal said that the roofs of some houses collapsed due to the storm due to which 10 people were injured. There has been no loss of life, instructions have been given to conduct a survey from Saturday itself to assess the damage to crops and houses. Every affected person will be compensated as per the government's policy.
For the time being the school building has been opened for the night stay of the people whose houses have been affected and further arrangements are being made. She asked the revenue department officials that the damage report should be made with full transparency and after preparing the same it should be posted in the village so that a social audit can be done.
All the injured persons have been admitted at the Civil Hospital in Abohar.
