ZERO TOLERANCE AGAINST ILLEGAL MINING, 4 POCLAIN MACHINES AND 5 TIPPERS SEIZED IN RUPNAGAR DISTRICT: MEET HAYER

Following the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to provide sand to the residents of the state at reasonable prices and to take strict action against illegal mining, the mining department carried out a major operation last night by raiding various places in Rupnagar district and 4 Poclain machines and 5 Tippers have been seized from Sava River.

Divulging the details here today, Mining Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that on the basis of confidential information, the mining department and the police department jointly acted and raided the villages adjacent to the Sava River at Sri Anandpur Sahib. During this raid, 4 Poclain machines and 5 Tippers were seized for illegal mining.

Meet Hayer said that the State Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has zero tolerance against any kind of mafia and will not tolerate any illegal activities. While the department has provided necessary sand to the common people from 32 public sites at the rate of Rs.5.50 per square feet, added Meet Hayer.
