Former Minister for Irrigation and Cooperation Sajjan Kumar Jakhar said, “Our main aim is to keep the youth away from drugs and attract them towards sports.”
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 12th Surinder Jakhar Memorial Cricket Tournament at village Panjkosi, he lauded the sports lovers for their enthusiasm that made the tournament a big success. He said that Surinder Jakhar Trust has been organising cricket tournaments, dance shows, volleyball matches, fitness competitions and marathon races with the help of Panjkosi Sports Society to promote extra mural activities among youth.
(SUBHEAD)For the final match, the toss was conducted by Abohar Municipal Corporation Mayor Vimal Thatai. The Danewala Satkosi team won the toss and scored 162 runs in 20 overs. UP’s Morti team won the trophy by defeating Danewala Satkosiby scoring 163 runs in the last ball of the match.
Morti team was awarded Rs 2 lakh cash prize and trophy. Rs. 1 lakh cash prize and trophy went to the runner-up Danewala Satkosi. Second and third runner up teams of Suratgarh and Khippianwalirespectively got Rs 50,000 each. Man of the series Gaurav was given Hero X Plus motorcycle.
