Border Security Force (BSF) troops deployed at border observed some suspicious movement of smugglers on both sides of border fencing in the area falling near Village – Gatti Ajaib Singh in District
Fazilka on Wednesday morning at about 0150 hours.
In a prompt action, BSF troops immediately fired towards Pakistan Smugglers ahead of the border fence. However, smugglers managed to ran away by taking advantage of dense fog. The whole area was cordoned and Police & concerned sister agencies were informed.
During initial search BSF troops recovered 04 Packets of contraband suspected to be heroin (Gross wt. – 4.130 kg) wrapped in yellow tape from ahead and own side of border fence near Vill – Gatti Ajaib Singh. Further, during detail search of the area troops recovered 21 Packets of contraband suspected to be heroin (Gross wt – 22.300 kg) wrapped in yellow tape along with 01 PVC pipe of length 12 feet and 01 shawl from ahead of border fencing.
Total recovery 25 Packets suspected to be heroin (Gross wt. – 26.430 kgs), 01 PVC pipe and 01 shawl. BSF troops, once again were able to foil nefarious design of smugglers.
The seizure valuing Rs. 130 crores in international market.
