In the series of Run-up events in the wake of Army Day Parade Jan 2026, the South Western Command Cycle Rally commenced its inspiring journey from the historical Asafwala War Memorial Fazilka. The rally was flagged off by Maj Gen Anuj Kalia, GOC, Amogh Division, in the presence of Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, IAS, DC Fazilka, Mr Gurmeet Singh, SSP Fazilka, Asha Malviya, renowned cyclist and officials of the BSF Punjab Frontier. The atmosphere resonated with patriotic fervour as soldiers, dignitaries and citizens gathered to celebrate the valour, resilience and indomitable spirit of the Indian Army.

This monumental rally, featuring highly motivated and disciplined soldiers from distinguished formations of the South Western Command, is more than an endurance event, it is a living symbol of national unity, resilience and unwavering commitment to the nation.

Covering a challenging route of over 800 kilometres, the team of 23 enthusiastic cyclists will traverse key border regions and vibrant towns including Fazilka, Abohar, Sriganganagar, Srikaranpur, Anupgarh, Khajuwala and Bikaner, culminating their triumphant arrival in Jaipur on 16 December 2025.

Along the route, the rally aims to foster strong connections with residents of border areas, ex-servicemen, NCC cadets and the youth. Through awareness programmes, motivational interactions, medical outreach camps and cultural events, the soldiers will highlight the values of discipline, service, compassion and national pride.
