BOPANNA/MIDDELKOOP WIN THEIR FIRST ATP TOUR TITLE AS A TEAM

(MOREPIC1)TEL AVIV (ISRAEL): Top seeds Rohan Bopanna of India, pairing with Matwe Middelkoop of Netherlands, defeated third seeds Santiago Gonzalez and Andres Molteni in straight sets 6-2 6-4 in hour and 12 minutes in the doubles final of the  $1,019,855 Tel Aviv Watergen Open here on Sunday.

Bopanna and partner earned  $50,180 and 250 points while the runners-up duo got 26,850 and 150 points.

 Rohan Bopanna and Matwe Middelkoop claimed their first ATP Tour title as a team.  This pair holds a 19-11 record as a team, including 16-10 this year.

This was Rohan Bopanna’s third ATP Tour title of the season and 22nd overall. Earlier this year, he won two trophies with  Ramkumar Ramanathan.

Middelkoop is now a 13-time tour-level titlist.

Top seed Novak Djokovic Serbian defeated second seed Marin Cilic 6-3 6-4 in the singles final.  35-year-old bagged his third tour-level crown of 2022 and the 89th of his career.
