The Central Bureau of Investigation has today arrested former Chairman of West Bengal Central School Service Commission (presently Vice-Chancellor of University of North Bengal) in an on-going investigation of a case.
CBI had registered the instant case on 07.04.2022 on the Orders of Hon’ble High Court, Calcutta dated 07.04.2022 passed in WPA 5538 of 2022. It has been alleged that the accused was involved in manipulation of scores of various candidates before the preparation of panel and the accused in conspiracy with others, had allegedly obtained undue advantage for facilitating illegal appointment of Assistant Teachers in Class IX and X to the undeserving & unlisted candidates for appointment in SSC scam cases in various schools across the State of West Bengal.
In this case, two private persons/middleman were earlier arrested on 25/26.08.2022. Both the accused persons are presently in Judicial Custody till 22.09.2022. Further, FIR named accused in this case, the then Advisor of West Bengal Central School Service Commission was also arrested on 09.09.2022. He has been remanded to Police Custody till 22.09.2022 by the Competent Court. Investigation is continuing.
CBI ARRESTS AN ABSCONDING ACCUSED IN A CASE RELATED TO MURDER OF SH. BHADU SK: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an absconding accused (resident of village – Bogtui Purbapara, West Bengal) & one of the alleged main conspirators from Rampurhat during further investigation of a case related to murder of Sh. Bhadu Sk. It was alleged that he along with other accused was present at the scene of crime and was helping the assailants flee from the spot. He had been evading arrest and absconding since inception of the case.
CBI had registered a case on 08.04.2022 in compliance of orders dated 08.04.2022 of the Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta passed in WPA (P) 130, 124, 125, 126, 129 & 133 of 2022 and taken over the investigation of the case no. 168/2022 dated 22.03.2022 earlier registered at Police Station Rampurhat (West Bengal). The case was registered against 10 accused.
After investigation, a chargesheet was filed on 20.06.2022 against 04 accused (also named in FIR) before the Designated Court. Further investigation was continuing against other accused.
The arrested accused was remanded to four day’s Police Custody.
