The team of PP Bhati Mines, PS Maidangarhi, South District has done commendable work by arresting a cheat namely Valifiooj who introduced himself as a police officer and used to cheat of cash/foreign currency of the people particularly foreigners on the pretext of checking of identity proof/ passport etc.
A team comprising of Inspr. Manish Chaudhary (I/C PP Bhati Mines), ASI Sandeep, HC Kulbie, HC Sree Ram, HC Manjeet and HC Dharmendra led by Inspr. Rajeev Kumar, SHO/Maidan Garhi under overall supervision of ACP Mehrauli was formed to nab the criminals.
The team worked on the previous incidents and gathered information about the incidents through registered FIRs. CCTV footages were checked and local informers were deployed. With consistent efforts, some important and result oriented clues were collected through the exercise of CCTV footage checking.(SUBHEAD)
The perseverance and efforts of the team bore fruits when on 14/09/2022, secret input about movement of two cheats indulged in multiple cheating incidents was received. The information was further developed and it was revealed that the cheats would come near Mahipalpur flyover in a car. Immediately, a trap was laid and a car was seen moving in suspicious circumstances but the car could not be intercepted. Further, the said team chased the car and after a brief chase around 15 KM the said Car was intercepted at Sec. 46, Gurugram. One occupant was nabbed who was later on identified as Valifiooj, R/o Iran.
During cursory search of the accused Valifiooj, a fake ID card (in the shape of a Police I Card having logo of National Flag and caption of POLICE) was recovered. Further during checking of the said Car, two pair of fake number plates were also recovered.
On interrogation, the accused Valifiooj disclosed that he came in India around 9-10 years ago on a Tourist Visa. Earlier, he used to reside in Bhogal and Jangpura Extension but later he started staying in Hotels in Gurugram area to live lavish life. He alongwith his other associates (IRANI) started to cheat foreigners by introducing themselves as Police Officers.
MODUS OPERANDI: Mr. Chandan Chowdhary, IPS, DCP, said, they targeted the victims particularly foreigners near hotels by introducing as police officers and also showed fake I card of police to the victims. Further, they asked to show their identity proof/passport, purse etc. and cheated/took their cash/foreign currency etc. by threatening them.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Valifiooj S/o Maghdar Ali R/o He was staying in hotels at Sector 46, Gurugram, Haryana. Permanent R/o Tehran, Iran. Age-55 yrs. He is previously found to be involved in following 06 cases-
FIR No. 374/19, U/s 420/34 IPC, PS Kishan Garh, FIR No. 217/19, U/s 356/379/34 IPC, PS Prasad Nagar, FIR No. 294/19, U/s 379/34 IPC, PS Prasad Nagar, FIR No. 434/19, U/s 379/34 IPC, PS Prasad Nagar. FIR No. 395/19, U/s 420/120B IPC, PS Saket, FIR No. 394/19, U/s 392/34 IPC, PS Saket and 8 cases have been workout.
RECOVERY : car was used in commission of offence, 2 pair of fake number plates. and one fake ID card.
Sincere efforts are being made to nab his other associates and to recover the cheated amount. The staff involved in good work is being suitably rewarded.
