LAND DISPUTE BETWEEN TWO PARTIES , TWO SHOT DEAD AND THREE INJURED IN ZIRA

Two persons were killed and three others were injured over possession on 6 kanal agricultural land at Village Fatehgarh Sabhra in Zira sub-division. The incident took place today afternoon.

As per information, the deceased were identified as Balwinder Singh (60) and his nephew Balraj Singh (18), both residents of Village Fatehgarh Sabhra.

Amarjit Singh, one of the relative of Balwinder said that today 20-30 persons reached to the fields to take possession and allegedly started firing due to which Balwinder and his nephew Balraj Singh (22) died while Pargat Singh (brother of Balwinder and father of Balraj) and two others identified as Gurjit Singh and Jaswant Singh got injured due to gun shots.(SUBHEAD)

All of them were sent to the civil hospital in Ferozepur where Balwinder and Balraj were declared brought dead.

As soon as the matter was reported, the police swung into action. Senior officials including SSP Surinder Lamba, DSP Jaswinder Singh Brar along with others reached the spot. “A special team has been constituted for the investigation of this case. Both the parties have been asked to deposit their weapons. Three accused have been taken into custody in this case. No one will be spared in this case.”, said SSP.
