The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Hyderabad has sentenced Sh. G. V. J. Mohan Kumar, then Assistant General Manager, State Bank of India, Hyderabad to undergo five years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 1.25 lakh and his wife Smt. Bindu Vani, private person to undergo three years RI with fine of Rs. 75,000/-

CBI had registered a case on 30.03.2015 against Sh. G. V. J. Mohan Kumar, Assistant General Manger, State Bank of India, Hyderabad and others on the allegations that the accused fraudulently obtained 2 cheques from M/s KMV Projects Ltd., one for Rs. 20 lakh in October, 2012 & another for Rs. 10 lakh in December, 2013 on the pretext of “Loan Syndicate Fee” and “Consortium Processing Fee”. He used the said Rs. 30 lakh for his personal benefits investing in SBI mutual funds in his wife’s name instead of crediting the same to the bank, thereby misappropriated the amount of Rs. 30 lakh. The accused violated the guidelines and caused financial loss of Rs. 30 lakh (plus interest) to bank.

After investigation, a charge-sheet was filed on 30.11.2015 against the accused. The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted them.
