Punjab Police cracks down on gangster as in a major breakthrough on Tuesday arrested two members of notorious gangsters associated with Lawrance Bishnoi gang and Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar.

Meanwhile , a report from Delhi said, Lawrence Bishnoi has been taken into custody by the Punjab Police in the Sidhu Musewala murder case. Lawrence Bishnoi has been taken into custody after the Patiala House Court in Delhi allowed the Punjab police to arrest him. The decision for custodial interrogation cam after Punjab Advocate General Anmol Rattan Sidhu assured the court that the state will take “full responsibility” for the gangster's security.

The court has not yet ruled on whether Lawrence Bishnoi , who originall hails from Fazilka Distt., can be brought to Punjab or not. The court has allowed Lawrence Bishnoi to be taken into custody by the Punjab police. The police team appealed to a Delhi court to bring Lawrence Bishnoi on a production warrant. The Lawrence gang had claimed responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala. Lawrence Lawyer Vishal Chopra opposed the Punjab Police application for custody, saying that there is apprehension he may be “eliminated” if transit remand is granted. He said virtual interrogation could be done. “We are just opposing his physical transit remand to Punjab Police. They can arrest him in the case, if needed, but in Delhi only,” the lawyer said.

Shubhdeep Singh alias Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in Jawahar Ke village of Punjab's Mansa district on May 29.

Punjab Police submitted on Tuesday that the arrested accused had said Lawrence Bishnoi was behind the murder. The motive, according to Punjab Police, was “to avenge the killing of Vikramjeet Singh alias Vicky Middukhera, in which there was an alleged involvement of Shagundeep Singh, manager of Shubhdeep Singh (Sidhu Moose Wala), who is now absconding”.

“Delhi Police, too, questioned Bishnoi, and have clearly stated that he is the key conspirator”, Punjab Police further said. After getting the remand, Punjab Police now have to produce Lawrence Bishnoi in a court in Mansa within 24 hours.

In the meantime SSP Mohali, Vivek Sheel Soni, IPS, said, the two accused identified as Gagandeep Singh alias Gaagi and Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi are residents of Dabwali in Sirsa district of Haryana.
Both were arrested from near Mohali. Two .32 calibre pistols have been recovered from them along with eight cartridges and a Scorpio vehicle car.

Soni said the duo was in regular touch with Godly Brar through gangster Manpreet Singh alias Manna, who provided Toyota Corolla car to assailants for killing Sidhu Moosewala. Recently, Manpreet Singh was arrested in the murder case of Moosewala.

Both the arrested accused were working on the directions of Brar and indulged in illegal weapons smuggling from border area of Punjab and Rajasthan and further deliver it to the shooters.

SSP further said, acting on a tip-off, an operation was launched by the Mohali police along with a team of Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Gagandeep and Gurpreet were arrested along with arms and ammunitions while they were on their way to deliver consignment of weapons.

Sources said, police will seek remand of both the accused for further interrogation from the Mohali Court.
