To keep a hawk’s eye on every nook and corner of the city, “Rural Rapid Force” was launched by the police department. While divulging details SSP Charanjit Singh Sohal said that in the initial stage, nine vehicles have been sent to four sub-divisions, which will be on the road for twenty four hours and will keep a hawk’s eye on every movement of the area.

“These vehicles will be kept roaming and will monitor the movement with the help of CCTV cameras. These vehicles will also go to the sensitive places like a protest taking place and will keep a check at the situation. As soon as something happens, the Rapid Force will inform the control room immediately to avert any untoward situation”, said SSP.

SSP Charanjit Singh said that being a border district, it is important to ensure security all the time. He said that this Rural Rapid Force would be specially deployed in the villages. The SSP also urged the people to cooperate with the police so that peace and harmony can be maintained in the district.
