AAP govt was following the footprints of the erstwhile Akali Dal-led govt that ignored Abohar, most populated city in Fazilka border for ten years.
Legislator Sandeep Jakhar said that the people of Abohar were made to suffer hell-like wrath due to neglect in development matters from 2007 to 2017. But after the change of power in 2017, with the aim of restoring the aura of Abohar, many development works were started with the help of former MP Sunil Jakhar.
Apna Abohar Apni Abha Abhiyan team cooperated with the administration in carrying out development work besides awareness drive on cleanliness, environment and health on war footing when Congress formed the govt. But, he said, after the change of power again in the state in March, the AAP-led govt ordered transfers only.(SUBHEAD)
The MLA said that about 35 days back, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abhijit Kaplish was transferred, it followed the transfer of SDM Amit Gupta three weeks ago. But till now no permanent appointment of any officer has been made in both the posts.
“Akali leaders had pushed the city to neglect under vendetta politics and ignored the Abohar area. Now the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party were following the same path. With valuable support of former MP Sunil Jakhar, the city has been made habitable with great difficulty by the team of Municipal Corporation, but by transferring the Commissioner and SDM and not making any permanent appointment in their place, the AAP government has given proof of its narrow mind. In the absence of full-time senior officers, many development works have been put in limbo as well as the work of the sub-division has also been affected. Both important posts need to be filled immediately, he said.
