HIMACHAL CM ANNOUNCES RS 1 CRORE AWARD TO CRICKETER RENUKA THAKUR

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced a prize money of Rs 1 crore for Renuka Thakur, a Himachali girl and member of the winning Indian cricket team.

She hails from Rohru in Shimla district. The Chief Minister congratulated Renuka Thakur via telephone for creating history by winning the first World Cup along with the team. The Chief Minister said that he watched the semi-final and final cricket matches, and the Indian women's team performed their best in these matches.

He said that all of Himachal is proud of Renuka Thakur's achievement and that she has brought glory to the state and the country. He expressed hope that her outstanding performance and dedication will inspire girls to achieve their life goals. The Indian women's cricket team defeated South Africa last evening to win the Women's World Cup 2025.
