2700 PARTICIPATE IN HALF MARATHON ORGANISED BY BRAHMA KUMARIS

As many as 2700 men and women from seven countries ran 21.9 km from Abu Road to Mount Abu in Rajasthan in the half marathon organised by Brahma Kumaris to commemorate the 18th death anniversary (World Brotherhood Day), of Dadi Prakashmani, former chief administrator of the organisation. Runners aged 18-72 years had come from different states in India besides Africa, UK, Kenya, Dubai and Ethiopia. 

MP Lumba Ram Chaudhary, MLAs Sama Ram Grasiya and Moti Ram Koli, Asian Marathon Champion Sunita Godara, Brahmakumaris Addl. General Secretary Dr. Mrityunjaya, Addl. General Secretary Karuna Bhai expressed their views. 

(SUBHEAD)The winner in the marathon was given a prize of Rs. 71 thousand, the first runner-up got Rs. 61 thousand and the second runner up got Rs. 51 thousand as a prize money. Apart from this, all the runners who completed the race in the stipulated time were felicitated with medals and citations. 

Winners: (Men 18-44 years) 24-year-old Deva Ram from Jodhpur who completed the race in 1 hour 19 minutes, 40 seconds. Men (above 45) winner was Gordhan Meena from Dausa Nangal who completed the distance in 1 hour 37 minutes, 40 seconds. 

Among Women (18-44 years) Arpita Saini of Muzaffarpur was the winner, who finished in 1 hour 38 minutes 48 seconds. In Women (above 45), the winner was Ratna Ashish Mehta from Surat who completed the race in 2 hours 8 minutes 35 seconds
