Three young international skaters from Ferozepur—Bhavik Jain, Harshika, and Harnav Singh—were given a rousing reception by the members of District Roller Skating Association upon their return from South Korea, where they won silver and bronze medals at the prestigious 20th Asian Roller Skating Championship.

The players, all students of local Dass & Brown World School, brought laurels to the nation and the district. Harshika, playing for the Junior Indian Inline Hockey Girls Team, clinched a silver medal, while Bhavik Jain (Class XII) and Harnav Singh (Class XI), representing the Junior Boys’ Team, secured a bronze medal. Notably, Harnav was praised for scoring goals in every match he played.

The grand welcome began with the players standing atop an open jeep, adorned with flower garlands, greeted by beats of dhols, sweets, and celebratory fireworks. MLA Rajnish Dahiya and Assistant Commissioner Simranjit Singh joined the celebrations and lauded the young athletes, calling them the pride of Ferozepur. “These young champions are an inspiration for the youth of the district. They’ve raised India’s flag high on international soil,” said Dahiya.

General Secretary of the District Roller Skating Association, Manjeet Singh Dhillon, Vice President Ranjan Sharma commended the skaters' stellar performances. “These young athletes have elevated the name of Ferozepur and their school on the global map. With the constant encouragement and leadership of our President Dr. Anirudh Gupta, our association is making a mark at the international level,” he said.
