DC HONOURS HOCKEY PLAYER RASHMEEN KAUR HANDA FOR ASIA CUP FEAT

 Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma today honoured promising hockey player Rashmeen Kaur Handa for her impressive performance in the Under-18 Women’s Hockey Asia Cup held at Kakamigahara, Japan, where she represented India and contributed to the team’s success on the international stage.

Congratulating the young player, the Deputy Commissioner said that Rashmeen, a resident of village Jhamatpur Dheru in Ferozepur district, has brought laurels not only to her village and district but also to Punjab and the country through her dedication, hard work and commitment to the sport. She extended her best wishes to the player for achieving greater milestones in the future.

DC said that Rashmeen secured her place in the Indian Under-18 Women’s Hockey Team on merit and played an important role as a dynamic midfielder throughout the tournament. India clinched the bronze medal after defeating South Korea 3-0 in the championship, with Rashmeen and her teammates making a significant contribution through their determination and teamwork.

Expressing confidence in her future, Deepshikha Sharma said that Rashmeen would continue to make her parents, village and district proud through her achievements. She also congratulated the player’s parents and coaches for their role in her success.

District Sports Officer Gurdeep Singh Grewal, hockey coach Manmeet Singh Rubal, Rashmeen’s father Sukhwinder Singh, mother Sukhwinder Kaur, brother Watanjeet Singh, grandfather Naginder Singh, uncle Master Kashmir Singh and other officials of the Sports Department were present on the occasion
