DEMANDING JUSTICE FOR KETAN AGGARWAL | EQUAL JUSTICE FOR EVERY CITIZEN
Face2News/Chandigarh
A peaceful Candlelight March was organized today by Save Indian Family (SIF) – Chandigarh, along with the citizens of Chandigarh, demanding justice for Ketan Aggarwal, whose alleged murder at Lohgarh Fort, Pune, has deeply shocked the nation.
The participants expressed solidarity with Ketan Aggarwal’s family and demanded a fair, transparent and time-bound investigation and the strictest punishment under law for every person found guilty, irrespective of gender.
Addressing the gathering, Rohit Dogra said, “Justice cannot be selective. Every victim deserves equal dignity, and every accused must be judged only on the basis of evidence-not gender. Crime has no gender, and justice should have no gender.”
Rohit Dogra further said, “One disturbing trend in our society is that whenever the victim is a man, attempts are often made to create speculative narratives to justify the incident instead of simply demanding justice. Men, too, can be victims and deserve the same empathy, dignity and protection under the law. If an adult woman is facing family pressure regarding her relationship or marriage, Indian law provides several legal remedies, including approaching the police, seeking protection from the High Court or other competent courts, or choosing to live independently, as many consenting adult couples do. No personal circumstance or alleged family pressure can ever justify violence or the taking of a human life. Let the investigation be guided by evidence, not assumptions or gender-based stereotypes. Justice must be equal, because crime has no gender and neither should justice.”
He further stated that Articles 14, 15 and 21 of the Constitution of India guarantee equality before law, protection against discrimination and the right to life and dignity to every citizen. These constitutional guarantees must be implemented equally for all.
Rohit Dogra also highlighted that while the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) publishes dedicated statistics on Crimes Against Women, there is no separate category comprehensively documenting crimes against men.
“What is not measured often remains unaddressed. Without reliable data, thousands of male victims remain statistically invisible. We demand dedicated NCRB statistics on crimes against men so that policymaking is based on facts and every victim receives equal attention.”
He further said that despite several statutory institutions working for the protection and welfare of women, India still has no National Commission for Men to address issues such as violence against men, harassment, false accusations, mental health concerns, parental alienation and other genuine grievances.
“We are not against women. We stand for equality. Our demand is simple-equal rights, equal protection and equal justice for every citizen.” The organization also emphasized that the rising incidence of violent crimes calls for speedy investigation, time-bound trials and certainty of punishment, as the fear of law is essential for maintaining public confidence in the justice system.
Our Demands:
* Justice for Ketan Aggarwal through a fair, transparent and time-bound investigation.
* Strict punishment for every guilty person, irrespective of gender.
* Speedy trial and timely justice.
* Establishment of a National Commission for Men.

* Equal protection and equal application of law in the true spirit of Articles 14, 15 and 21 of the Constitution of India.
