The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), arrested the absconding accused in Abhijit Sarkar Murder Case, on Wednesday. He was absconding since the inception of the case and never joined investigation.
The instant case dated 25.08.2021 pertaining to the murder of Abhijit Sarkar is one of the Post Poll Violence Cases which were registered at CBI, Kolkata in compliance of the order dated 19.08.2021 of Hon’ble Calcutta High Court in WPA (P) 142 -149 and 167 of 2021 by taking over the investigation of Narkeldanga PS Case No. 124/2021 dated 02.05.2021.
After completion of investigation CBI filed charge sheet on 30.09.2021 against 20 persons including the absconder.
The arrested accused was produced before the court of Ld. Judge, Bench I, NDPS Act, City Sessions Court, Calcutta today and remanded to Judicial Custody.Investigation is continuing.
