To ensure the quality of food products and provide safe food to the public under the Food Safety Act, the Health Department in Sriganganagar area conducted comprehensive inspections, sampling, and awareness drives. Food samples were collected from various food establishments, and students in schools and colleges were sensitized to food safety and hygienic eating habits.
CMHO Dr. Ajay Singla said that department teams collected samples—following due procedure—to check food quality from Riddhi Siddhi Mall at the district headquarters, STG Mall in Suratgarh, and Shri Shyam Five Star Tea Point.
Additionally, food safety awareness programs were organized for students at Surya Children School and Jagriti Bal Vidya Mandir School. Through these programs, students were educated about safe food, food hygiene, avoiding adulteration, and precautions to be taken while eating. Similar awareness programs were also held at Jain Girls College and BDIS School. The objective of these initiatives was to instil habits of safe and hygienic eating in students from a young age and to explain the importance of food safety.
These actions and awareness programs were carried out by Food Safety Officers Hetram Khudia, Renu Chaudhary, Manju Bala, Nitya Sharma, and Urmila Bhadu.
