In a proud moment for Indian academia, a student-faculty team from Guru Kashi University (GKU) has earned a spot among the Top 10 global teams at IDEATHON 2025, hosted by Florida International University, USA. The competition brings together emerging thinkers from around the world to develop solutions to some of today’s most pressing global issues.
The GKU team—Dr. Manita Paneri, Dr. Vikas Gupta, Suraj Kumar and Mr. Rajender Kumar—competed in the Health Tech & Well-being category, where their project was selected for its practical innovation and human-centered approach to healthcare challenges. The team’s work focuses on bridging gaps in preventive care through scalable digital interventions, tailored especially for underserved populations.

IDEATHON is known for its rigorous selection process and its diverse pool of participants from leading global institutions. This year’s theme challenged teams to rethink the future across areas such as health, sustainability, and digital well-being.
Dr. Paneri who was the part of the team, reflecting on the recognition, said, “This is more than a moment of celebration—it’s a reminder that meaningful change in healthcare doesn’t always require massive infrastructure.
