DELHI POLICE NABS TWO GIRLS WITH COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY CIRCULATING IN MATKET

TOTAL 33 COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY NOTES OF RS. 100/- DENOMINATIONS RECOVERED & SEIZED FROM THEIR POSSESSION.

The staff of PS Sarojini Nagar, South West District had arrested two accused girls namely ‘R’ D/o Pawan R/o Faridabad, Haryana, Age 22 years & ‘A’ D/o Jag Jeevan Lall R/o PS Pahargaon, Andaman & Nicobar Island, Age 29 years. With their arrest, total 33 counterfeit currency notes of Rs. 100/- denominations were recovered & seized from their possession.

On 19.03.2025, Beat officer HC Rajender was present in Sarojini Nagar Market along with W/Ct. Sapna for foot patrolling in civil dress to keep watch over pick pockets. During patrolling when the team reached in front of Lane Sarojini Nagar Market, specific information was received that two girls have counterfeit currency and circulating the fake notes in Sarojini Nagar Market for shopping.

On receipt of the above information, a dedicated team led by Insp. Atul Tyagi, SHO/PS Sarojini Nagar comprising W/SI Vineesha, PSI Mohit, HC Rajender & W/Ct. Sapna was constituted under the overall supervision of Sh. Ranbir Singh, ACP/Sub-Division Safdarjung Enclave. The team successfully apprehended two suspected girls from Sarojini Nagar Market. On searching, total 33 counterfeit notes of Rs. 100/- denominations were found in their possession.

Mr. Surendra Choudhary, IPS , Dy. Commissioner Of Police, South West Distt, said, during interrogation, their name and address were revealed as ‘R’ D/o Pawan R/o Faridabad, Haryana, Age 22 years & ‘A’ D/o Jag Jeevan Lall R/o PS Pahargaon, Andaman & Nicobar Island, Age 29 years. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 105/2025, u/s 180 BNS was registered at PS Sarojini Nagar. Both the girls were arrested and produced before the concerned court.

RECOVERY:  Total 33 counterfeit notes of Rs. 100/- denominations.

Further investigation is under progress.
