CBI ARRESTS ACCUSED PF CLERK FOR DEMANDING AND ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS 1.3 LAKH

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested accused PF Clerk of Sub Area office, SECL, Nowrozabad, Distt. Umaria (MP) for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.1.3 lakh as first installment from the complainant.

A case was registered by CBI on 24.03.2025 against two accused including Commissioner, Coal Mines Provident Fund, Regional Office, Jabalpur and accused PF Clerk (Baboo), Sub Area office, SECL, Nowrozabad, Distt. Umaria (MP) on the allegations that accused demanded of bribe of Rs. 5,00,000/- for releasing pending Provident Fund of the father of complainant.

It was alleged in the complaint that the father of the complainant was working in Kudri Coal Mines who had expired on 14.05.2021. Complainant visited Sub Area office, Nowrozabad, several times to get pending Provident fund of his father released where he met accused, PF Clerk. Said accused, allegedly, told the complainant that PF amount of his father is about 50-60 Lakhs. It was also alleged that complainant alongwith his relative visited Jabalpur and met said accused PF Clerk who facilitated their meeting with accused Commissioner, Coal Mines Provident Fund, Regional Office, Jabalpur, in this regard. After coming out from the office of the Commissioner, accused PF clerk, allegedly, informed them that their work would be done and demanded bribe of Rs. 5 lakhs and told that Rs. 2,50,000/- would have to be given to the Commissioner, Coal Mines Provident Fund, Regional Office, Jabalpur. Thereafter, accused PF clerk, allegedly, made multiple telephonic calls to complainant‘s relative, demanding bribe and asked to pay Rs 1,50,000/- as first installment.

CBI laid a trap and caught accused PF clerk red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 1.3 lakh as first installment from the complainant.

Further on the instructions of accused, Regional Comm. CMPF, his office security guard has accepted bribe money of Rs 1,30,000/-. Later, accused was arrested and will be produced before the Competent Court on 25.03.2025.

Searches were conducted by CBI at the premises of accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents. Investigation is continuing.
