The sleuths belonging to Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) wing of Punjab police and 155 battalion of BSF have recovered 1.076 kg heroin and 2.192 kg from Gatti Rajo ke village.

While divulging details, Bhupinder Singh SSP said that following the inputs, a search operation had been carried out near the fencing area yesterday night.

“Later a raid had been conducted at the residence of the accused identified as Jasvir Singh alias Seera and Ramandeep Singh alias Raman, both residents of Gatti Rajo ke during which the consignment was recovered in shape of three packets (two packets of heroin weighing 1.076 kg and one packet of opium weighing 2.192 kg)”, said SSP Bhupinder.

(SUBHEAD)The SSP said that the packets were wrapped with tape and there was one steel ring attached with the packets which indicates air dropping of the packets.

Both the accused have been booked under sections 21,23,18 of NDPS Act at Sadar police station (FIR No. 37 Dated 22.03.25). “The accused somehow managed to escaped before the raid. A hunt has been launched to nab both the accused and soon they will be arrested”, SSP added.
