In a bid to address the growing health-care needs of India's ageing population, Western Command Hospital, Chandimandir is organizing an inter-command Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Programme on 'Geriatric Nursing Concept: Challenges and Way Forward' on February 18, 2025 (Tuesday). This pioneering initiative aims to empower nurses with the knowledge and skills required to provide high-quality care to the elderly.

The CNE will feature a keynote address by Dr. Sajesh Ashokan, President, Geriatric Society of India and will bring together nursing luminaries, senior nursing dignitaries and nursing students from across the country. The event will provide a platform for experts to share their insights and experiences, and for participants to engage in meaningful dis-cussions and knowledge-sharing.

The programme is part of efforts to address the significant economic, health & social challenges of ageing and ensure that older adults receive the best possible care. Chandimandir Command Hospital aims to make a positive impact on the lives of the elderly and their families by grooming the skills of nurses and healthcare professionals.

A poster competition was also organised as a pre-event, with participants submitting entries on topics such as frailty, preventive, and healthy ageing. The winning posters will be displayed during the event, showcasing innovative ideas and best practices in geriatric care.
