CHANDIGARH TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT FOR BOYS & GIRLS (U-14, U-17, U-19) CONCLUDES WITH THRILLING MATCHES

The Chandigarh Table Tennis Tournament for Boys and Girls (Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19), organized by the Sports Department, Chandigarh, kicked off yesterday at the Table Tennis Hall, Sector 23, Chandigarh.

This event, marking the first tournament of the department’s envisioned annual sports calendar, aims to nurture young talents in Chandigarh, with additional tournaments in various sports disciplines planned in the near future.

In the Under-14 Girls Singles, Sherell Chhabra emerged as the champion, with Maira Kapoor reaching the semifinals. In the Boys Singles, Abhinav Kaushik secured the title, with Divpratap reaching the semifinals.

For the Under-17 Girls Singles, Teetiksha Goel claimed victory, while Prabhleen Kaur reached the semifinals. Vishal Garg took the title in the Boys Singles, with Pritish Sood as a semifinalist.

The winners, runners-up, and third-place holders in each category of boys and girls will receive cash prizes of Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000, and Rs. 2,000, respectively.

The competition for boys & girls (U-19) will culminate on Wednesday along with closing ceremony October 2024.

The tournament was inaugurated by Sh. Sorabh Arora, Director Sports, Chandigarh, alongwith Dr. Mohender Singh, Joint Director Sports, Chandigarh, who commended the young players for their enthusiasm and commitment.
