TANTIA MEDICAL COLLEGE DOCTORS, TEACHERS, STUDENTS TAKE OUT A PROTEST MARCH

Condemning the brutal rape and murder of a female doctor in West Bengal, all the doctors, professors, nursing staff and medical students of Tantia Medical College, Hospital and Research Center and Jan Seva Hospital in Sriganganagar took out a protest march.

Gurbhajan Singh, Deputy Director (Medical Education), said that the march was taken out from two sides in Tantia University campus. The first march left from Jan Seva Hospital which was led by Medical Superintendent Dr HS Bindra. The second march was led by Dean Dr Sankalp Dwivedi. Both the marches reached the Monument Park through various routes. Here the participants demanded justice for the victim's family and sent a memorandum to the President of India.

Dr Mohit Tantia, Vice Chairman of Tantia University, said that we cannot accept this cruel incident in any way. This is not just an attack on a female doctor, it is an attack on our morale, on every person who is fulfilling his responsibilities. The incident damages the Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao campaign in the country. Expressing condolences to the victim's family, he said that we all are with them.

(SUBHEAD)Dr Sankalp Dwivedi (Dean) said that the Kolkata incident has shocked the entire country. There is tremendous anger in the medical community due to this. He said that we demonstrate unity and demand action against the culprits.

Dr HS Bindra Medical Superintendent said that we work 24 hours a day and night without rest sometimes, we make continuous efforts to keep our daughters safe, but such incidents break our morale.

Dr Arun Kalra, Dr Reema, Dr Vikram Arora and Dr Aastha Kalra also addressed. Tributes were paid to the deceased doctor by observing silence for two minutes.

Also, doctors and nursing staff of Tantia Hospital located on Sukhadia Marg also took part in the protest by the Indian Medical Association and demanded action against the culprits.
