HUGE QUANTITY OF REPRINTED PRODUCTS (ABOUT 194 CARTOONS) WORTH AROUND 40 LACS RECOVERED, OWNER OF THE GODOWNS ARRESTED.

An information was received at Cyber Cell, Crime Branch that many expired products of food and cosmetics of famous international and national brands are being sold with reprinted manufacture date etc in the area of Moti Bagh and Shastri Nagar Delhi.
In view of the sensitivity of the case and to act upon the information, police team comprising Insp. Vivekanand, W/SI Pankaj Negi, SI Ramesh, HC Pankaj, HC Kamal, HC Gagan Deep, HC Dinesh, HC Vinod, W/Ct Sikha and W/Ct Mamta was constituted, under the supervision of Sh. Pawan Kumar, ACP/Cyber Cell, Crime Branch, under the close supervision of the undersigned.
Raid was conducted on a Godown at West Moti Bagh, Sarai Rohila, Delhi. One laser printing machine was found in the working condition which was being used for reprinting the manufacturing date for extension of expired products. 20 Cartoons of Fogg Body Spray with erased details i.e manufacturing/expiry date/batch no/price were recovered. A case under appropriate sections of law was registered at PS Crime Branch and the owner of the Godown named Ashwani Kohli R/o Subhadra Colony, Delhi has been arrested.
During investigation, on the instance of accused, further raids were conducted at Nangli Poona, Swaroop Nagar, Subhadra Colony, Shastri Nagar where branded items of foods like Horlicks, Bournvita, Complan, Glucon-D, Dabur Honey, Knorr Soup, Tata Tea Gold, and other items i.e. Fogg Body Spray, Nivea Cream, Nivea Body Spray, Lip Balm, Beer Shampoo, Park Avenue, Apple Cider Shampoo, Park Avenue Perfume, Dabur Anmol coconut Oil, KS Spark Body Spray, Park Avenue Hair Gel, Sping Kool Talk, Godrej Bath Soap, Nivea Roll On etc. were also recovered. The estimated cost of recovery is about 40 Lakhs.
INTERROGATION: Mr. Rakesh Paweriya , IPS, Dy. Commissioner of Police Crime Branch, said during interrogation, accused Ashwani Kohli disclosed that in 2021, he met with one Kawal Anand R/o Delhi who used to sale expired edible items by reprinting the manufactured date and was earning handsome amount. Accused was running in debt, so he also started the same illegal business to earn easy money. Accused Ashwani Kohli installed a printing machine at a Godown at Moti Bagh, Sarai Rohilla and started printing manufactured date and used to sale the said reprinted products in the area of Delhi/NCR. He further disclosed that he brought expired products from Bhiwandi & Pune, Maharashtra from scrap dealers.

Efforts are being made to nab the suppliers and to affect more recovery and to contact the “FSSAI”. Further investigation of case is underway.
