Accused/Proclaimed offender Sagar Mehta s/o Sh. Ashwani Kumar Mehta in 9 cases of Delhi & UP, evading his arrest since 2016 arrested after 8 years by EOW. The complainant reported that the accused had started project with the name of Meadow Vista, Skywalk in Raj Nagar Extension, Greater Noida (West) and collected money from public at large But neither Flats/Houses were delivered nor the money returned.
MODUS OPERANDI: – Accused in connivances with other accused persons formed several companies. They collected money from public on the pretext of providing flats/homes. They started projects at Raj Nagar Extension with the name of Meadow Vista, Skywalk and also collected money from public for investments. Instead of investing in the projects, they siphoned off the money, sold flats to multiple customers and routed the money in their shell companies too.
INVESTIGATION: – A number of FIR’s were registered at Delhi against the alleged companies and in 7 FIR’s Sagar Mehta was named as accused. In all the cases accused Sagar Mehta was declared as Proclaimed person and after investigation chargesheet was filed before the concerned court.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON:- Accused Sagar Mehta did his graduation from Delhi University. After graduation he joined the group of other co-accused persons. He in association with other accused persons formed several companies and misappropriated the public money. He is also wanted in criminal cases of Murad Nagar UP
TEAM AND ARREST: – Amrutha Guguloth, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Economic offence Wing,
said, the accused took every measure to evade his arrest. In last 8 years he changed his locations i.e Delhi, Noida, Amritsar Bangalore and Chamba Himanchal Pradesh. In order to arrest the accused person several places were visited including Chamba Himanchal Pradesh etc. Finally after technical surveillance and human intelligence the accused Sagar Mehta was traced at village Sarol, District Chamba Himanchal Pradesh.
(SUBHEAD)Accordingly, a special team was formed consisting of SI Ajay Swami D-5501, ASI Satyvir No. 63/EOW & HC Sachin No. 125/EOW under the supervision of ACP S M Sharma and overall supervision of Ms. Amrutha Guguloth DCP/EOW to arrest the accused persons. The accused Sagar Mehta was traced and arrested on 27.04.24 from Village Sarol, District Chamba Himanchal Pradesh.
