In the early days of Hindi journalism, most of the editors of newspapers and magazines were writers. Even at present, journalism cannot be imagined by keeping literature and culture aside. The truth is that literature and culture live at the core of Hindi journalism.

Anil Saxena, founder of Rajasthan Media Action Forum, said this in a seminar on 'Indian Literature, Culture and Media' in Sriganganagar on Sunday. He said that literature introduces the culture of its region and society and the media disseminates it.

(SUBHEAD)Raj Kumar Jain said that there have been many changes in journalism in the last three decades. Even though the facilities in journalism have increased, the responsibilities of journalists have also increased. Dr. Krishan Kumar Ashu said that literature plays an important role in maintaining the democratic system because only literature gives you the opportunity to express your views freely.

Dr. Sandesh Tyagi said that there should be no interference of politics in the field of literature. Sanjay Sethi said that nowadays there is a lack of training in journalism whereas it was not so in the past. Rakesh Mitwa said that the politics of awards in the literary field is in full swing and discussing it seems meaningless.

Rajasthan Staff Selection Board ex-member Vijay Laxmi Mahendra said that the media also has the responsibility to increase the reach of literature. Krishna Brihaspati said that both journalists and litterateurs are facing economic crisis as well as political pressure.

The guests released Anil Saxena's story collection book 'Aakhyayika'.
