A year ago, the Sriganganagar Child Helpline found a boy named Dadu abandoned on the Hazur Sahib Nanded Express train. The helpline took care of the boy and presented him before the Child Welfare Committee. He was accommodated in the Vivek Ashram for shelter.
Although the committee and the helpline tried to counsel the boy, he couldn’t provide any detailed information about himself or his family. All he could say was that he was from Kota, that he had come to work with his father, and that he had gotten separated from his father.
Committee Chairman Joginder Kaushik said that the boy’s whereabouts were determined through continuous counselling sessions with him. The boy was shown videos of various areas in the Kota region from time to time. In one of these videos, the boy recognized the Chambal Riverfront in Kota.
Committee member Dr. Ram Prakash Sharma said that after the boy provided the information, the Child Welfare Committee in Kota was contacted. The child’s social assessment report was sent to them, and efforts were made to locate his relatives through the local police. After six months of efforts, the boy’s relatives were found. Today, the boy has been returned home. The Child Welfare Committee in Sriganganagar has ordered that the boy be handed over to the Child Welfare Committee in Kota.
On the occasion, Joginder Kaushik, chairman of the Child Welfare Committee, Dr. Ram Prakash Sharma, a member, Trilok Verma, the coordinator of the Child Helpline, soldiers from the Reserve Police Line and Sadhvi Ritu Bala from the Vivek Ashram, were present.
