A mock drill under ‘Operation SHIELD’ was conducted at 6:00 PM today at the Municipal Council premises to prepare for eventualities and high-risk scenarios like air raids, fires, and gas leaks to test Ferozepur’s emergency response systems.

The drill mobilized civil administration, police, health services, home guards, and fire personnel into swift, coordinated action. Sirens mimicked an aerial attack, prompting responders to demonstrate evacuation drills, first aid, fire control, and crowd management.

Residents were briefed on safety protocols such as switching off lights, avoiding open windows, lying low, and taking shelter under solid structures. Instructions also advised avoiding vehicles and using fingers to protect ears during explosions.

Senior officials including Punjab Home Guard Commandant Kamalpreet Singh, SP Naveen Kumar, DSP Taranjeet Singh, SHO City Jatinder Kumar besides civil defence committee members including Parminder Thind Chief Warden besides others were present on this occasion.

PHG Commandant Kamalpreet Singh said that such drills are vital in ensuring both public and administrative readiness during real emergencies, urging residents to follow all safety measures demonstrated.
