PUNJAB DECLARED PAID HOLIDAY IN CONNECTION WITH LUDHIANA WEST BYEPOLL ON JUNE 19

Under Section 135-B (1) of the Representation of the People Act 1951, for the convenience of voting in the Ludhiana West District elections. Under this, a holiday with pay has been declared on June 19, 2025.

For the registered voters belonging to Ludhiana West constituency, wherever they are working in Punjab. This will be a holiday with pay so that the said voters can exercise their voting rights. 

These include all those working in industrial establishments, businesses, trades, shops or other establishments. Applies to employees including those working on shift basis who work in Ludhiana Westerners are entitled to vote on the polling day for the elections. 

Employees registered as voters in Ludhiana West constituency, employees working outside the constituency (such as in industrial or other establishments) are also entitled to this paid leave. 

This provision also applies to daily wages and general workers as per the provisions of the Representation of the People Act 1951 mandated by section 135B.
