MOHALI POLICE BUSTED HIGH PROFILE GAMBLING RACKET, 14 BUSINESSMEN ARRESTED WITH LAKH CASH, REMANDED TO 2 DAYS POLICE CUSTODY

The Accused identified as Ravi Dhakoli, Shivam Resident of Sector 23D, Chandigarh, Anil Sector 52, Chandigarh, Vijay Kumar Govind Nagar, Abohar, Ashok Kumar Sector 21, Panchkula, Naveen, Agarsain Nagar, Sri Gangangar (Rajasthan) Sunil Kumar Sector 43A, Chandigarh, Sukhjinder Village Bir Rao (Moga), Pitashir Saini Vihar, Baltana Zirakpur, Arvin Kumar, Nai Abadi Gali No. 7, Abohar, Surinder Singh Jyoti Enclave, Chandigarh, Subhash Chander Sector 20 Panchkula, Ashok Kumar Sector 20 Panchkula, Raj Bahadur resident of Nepal.

Acting on a tip-off, the  Mohali police, led by SP Jaspinder Singh (DSP sub division Zirakpur), arrested 14 people for gambling at Hotel KC Royal on Chandigarh Ambala Road on Tuesday night. The raid resulted in the recovery of more than 25.30 lakh rupees, 7 CARS, 1 Acyiva recovered. A case has been registered under Gambling Act 3,4 and 318 BNS.   Later Police produced them before the Derabassi Court, where they were remanded to police custody for further investigation.

The police received a tip-off about illegal gambling activities taking place at Hotel KC Royal and immediately took action. The raid was led by SP Jaspinder Singh, who was accompanied by a team of officers from the Zirakpur sub division. Upon entering the premises, the police found 14 individuals engaged in gambling and seized a total of more than 25 lakh rupees from them.

(SUBHEAD)A case has been registered under the Gambling Act 3,4 and 318 BNS against the arrested individuals. The police have also confiscated all the gambling equipment found at the scene.  The accuses hails from Chandigarh, Ambala, Rajpura, Mohali and different parts of other states.

Police obtained confidential intelligence regarding illegal gambling activities in hotels, prompting the SAS Nagar police teams, led by SP Jaswinder Singh, to conduct a search at KC Royal Hotel on Chandigarh Ambala Road. 14 individuals were apprehended, a case was filed in zirakpur police station, and Rs 25 lakh 30 thousand was confiscated, said, Harman Hans, SSP Mohali.
