Police reported to have arrested Drug peddler with contraband heroin.The case FIR No. 71, dated 26.07.2025 U/s 21 NDPS ACT, Police Station-Industrial Area, UT, Chandigarh.
This case has been registered on the complaint of SI Zile Singh No. 1633/CHG, PS-Industrial Area, Chandigarh. On 26.07.2025, SI Zile Singh along with police party was on patrolling duty in PS Area for prevention and detection of crime.
At about 09:00 PM, when they reached near Sub Office BR Division, Sec-29, Chandigarh, then Police party noticed that a pedestrian coming from Iron Market towards Police Party, on seeing the police party, he turned back and started walking briskly but on suspicion he was apprehended with the help of present police officials.
In the meantime, suspect attempted throwing something out from right pocket of his blue lower, but he was caught by the police officials. On asking, he disclosed his name as Naveen Kumar @ Dhoom S/o Sonu Kumar R/o H.No. 675, Phase-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh Age- 26 years. Thereafter, on checking cream color contraband in the polythene was recovered onsuspicion. It was checked with drug detection testing kit and the result was found positive of Heroin/Chitta weighting 11.40 grams. The MFT team also reached on the spot and checked Heroin/Chitta through Chemical Expert and the result was found positive as Heroin/Chitta.
