DELHI POLICE NABS THREE PUNJAB YOUTHS FOR EXTORTING MONEY FROM JEWELLER IN THE NAME OF LAWRENCE BISHNOI

On 12.08.2025, an information regarding an extortion call was received at PS Kalyanpuri. Acting swiftly, the police staff responded and verified the facts. It was revealed that Director of M/s Giri Zever Mahal, Kalyanpuri, had received a demand of Rs.25 lakhs in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 372/25, under Section 308(4) BNS, was registered at PS Kalyanpuri and investigation was taken up. 

Acting upon teams launched a systematic investigation by deploying technical surveillance, developing human intelligence and thoroughly analysing CCTV footage of the route taken by the complainant. On the basis of technical evidence, the accused behind the extortion demand was identified. Subsequently, the teams conducted raids at multiple locations in Punjab and successfully apprehended the accused Rohit Bhullar (23), resident of Village Algaon Khurd, District Tarn Taran, Punjab, alongwith his associate Arshdeep Singh @ Karan (21), resident of Village Teja Kalan, Batala, District Gurdaspur, Punjab. The mobile phone and WhatsApp account used for making the extortion demand were also recovered from the accused persons.

INTERROGATION: Mr. Abhishek Dhania, IPS, DCP, East Distt, said, during interrogation, it was revealed that the accused had extended life threats to the victim on the directions of one Sheru, a resident of Village Teja, District Gurdaspur, Punjab, who migrated to Bahrain. Accused Arshdeep @ Karan further revealed that Sheru had also engaged one Gagan for arranging vehicles to follow the victim. Through technical surveillance, Gagan was later identified as Gurjinder Singh @ Gagan (21 years), resident of Village Haruwal, District Gurdaspur, Punjab.

He was also apprehended from Punjab after a joint raid by both teams. Accused Gagan disclosed that in April 2025, through Instagram, co-accused Arshdeep @ Karan contacted him for procuring weapons and for joining his gang. Later, Arshdeep personally approached him at his village with the intent of making easy money through extortion and asked to be connected with his network. They hatched the present conspiracy to earn easy money. Further investigation is in progress.
