Dr. Mohit Tantia, Vice Chairperson of Tantia University Sriganganagar and Executive Member of Central Government's National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities has announced to ban American products on the University campus in protest against 50 percent American tariff on India.

He said that the people in India should oppose American tariffs as a whole. If we jointly boycott American products, then the Trump administration will realize the big market like India and our purchasing power.

Dr. Tantia said that in view of America's stance, the University has decided to completely ban all types of American products in its campus. In the near future, it will be implemented more strictly. Keeping in mind the 'Make in India' policy of the Government of India, our effort will be to provide India-made alternatives to the students in the university instead of American products so that they can fulfill their daily needs as usual.

Advocating Swadeshi, Dr Tantia said that on the occasion of completion of 120 years of Swadeshi movement in India, 25 percent tariff was imposed on the country by the US on August 7 which was later increased to 50 percent. To counter this, every Indian should boycott US products by opposing the tariff at his own level. India with a population of about 140 crores will not bow down to any pressure from America.
