Brigadier P.S. Cheema, SM, VSM, Group Commander, Ludhiana Group, visited NCC Academy to review the ongoing Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat-I Camp being conducted in Malout.

He was warmly received by Col Rajeev Sirohi, Camp Commandant, and Lt Col Gaurav Nyol, Deputy Camp Commandant. The cadets presented a Guard of Honour, followed by introductions of the ANOs and PI staff from various Groups of PHHP&C and Uttarakhand Directorates. The Camp Commandant briefed the Group Commander on the training and administrative aspects of the camp, along with preparations made prior to its commencement.

As part of the camp activities, the EXPA team members— Gremsy Sequeira and Kishore Mandyam—conducted a Cadet Start-up Workshop for 105 SD/SW cadets of PHHP&C Directorate, selecting 16 cadets for further representation. Brigadier Cheema interacted with the EXPA team over tea and observed the workshop proceedings. Cadets, divided into 10 groups, showcased their creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills by presenting innovative start-up ideas with confidence and enthusiasm.

Brigadier Cheema encouraged them to use this opportunity to learn about each other’s culture, build lasting friendships, and imbibe positive values. He motivated them to focus on self-discipline, resilience, and determination to achieve their goals, stressing the importance of learning from challenges rather than being hindered by them.

The Group Commander also felicitated the winners of Debate, Painting, and Tableaux competitions, appreciating their talent and achievements.
