The Youth Festival of education colleges affiliated with Panjab University was inaugurated with great fanfare here today at the DAV College of Education. About 30 colleges of B-Zone are participating in various competitions.
The event commenced under the guidance of Organizing Secretary Prof. Ajay Khosla and Coordinator Dr. Harpreet Kaur.
(SUBHEAD)The chief guest of the opening session was social leader and progressive farmer Dhanpat Siyag. The special guest was Vimal Thatai, Mayor of Abohar Municipal Corporation. They were warmly welcomed by the students. The guests lit the traditional lamps to mark the opening ceremony of the Festival. Dr. Mandeep Kaur and Prof. Suresh Makkar conducted the stage effectively. Sushila and Jatinder Kaur provided full support in the successful organization of the event.
Dr. Vijay Grover, Acting Principal of the College, in an inspiring speech, encouraged the students and said that such events provide an excellent opportunity to develop cultural, creative, and leadership qualities in students.
Chief Guest Dhanpat Siyag and Mayor Vimal Thatai said that all the students in schools and colleges should be involved in sports and cultural activities for all-round personality development. They appreciated the principal and his team for making elaborate arrangements for the participants.
