Roundglass Foundation, a purpose-driven organization, proudly announces the launch of the Village Sports Festival 2025, set to become Punjab’s largest grassroots sports competition. Running from 21 November to 18 December, the month-long festival aims to ignite a vibrant sports movement across rural Punjab, uniting communities, nurturing young talent, and inspiring children to dream beyond boundaries.

The Festival was officially inaugurated in Pathankot by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Indian Guru and Spiritual Leader, who lit the ceremonial lamp and flagged off the first match, marking a significant and inspirational start to Punjab’s biggest rural sports initiative. The opening ceremony witnessed the participation of hundreds of children, coaches, community leaders, and volunteers, setting a high-energy tone for the month ahead.

“The Village Sports Festival is an important step toward expanding access to quality sports experiences for children in rural Punjab,” said Vishal Chowla, Leader, Roundglass Foundation. “Through this initiative, we want every child to feel supported, encouraged, and inspired to pursue their potential—both on and off the field. Sport builds confidence, fosters discipline, and strengthens communities, and our focus is to make these opportunities available to all.”

The Festival is supported by partners including Kavita and Vinod Khanna Foundation and The Art of Living and sponsors such as Nivia, ST&GE, Fitnambi, Shiv Darshan and Shiv Naresh Constructions, who share the commitment to empowering Punjab’s youth and strengthening the culture of sports in rural India.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Indian Guru and Spiritual Leader, added, “Sports play a vital role in shaping character and strengthening community bonds. The Village Sports Festival reflects a meaningful effort to encourage healthier, happier, and more connected communities across Punjab. It is heartening to see children come together with enthusiasm, discipline, and a spirit of togetherness.”

With over 7,500 children expected to participate, the Village Sports Festival 2025 promises to be a transformative celebration of movement, ambition, and community pride—laying the foundation for a healthier and more vibrant Punjab.
