Haryana Olympic Association President Jasvinder Meenu Beniwal stated that in Haryana, Merit certificates will now be issued to athletes only after they win a medal and successfully pass the dope test. This measure aims to keep athletes away from substance abuse and enable them to win medals for the country in large numbers. To ensure Haryana’s participation in the upcoming Commonwealth Games, a letter will be written to the Indian Olympic Association. Emphasizing that athletes’ rights will not be allowed to suffer, he said the Haryana Olympic Association is preparing a special plan in this regard.
(MOREPIC1)On Thursday, Jasvinder Meenu Beniwal inaugurated a modern sports stadium built by Anil Sangwan Kaluwala Construction in memory of his father at Village Dohka Hariya, Charkhi Dadri. Spread over approximately 10 acres, the stadium is being developed at an estimated cost of ₹20 crore. Meenu Beniwal thanked Anil Sangwan Kaluwala and his team for this commendable initiative and said that the Haryana Olympic Association would promote and honor individuals from society who contribute to the promotion of sports. He also announced the construction of a canoeing (boating) stadium in Village Kaluwala.
At the event, DC Dr. Munish Nagpal, Sangwan Khap head and former MLA Sombir Sangwan, along with several international athletes, awardees, IAS and IPS officers, were present and honored. Men’s and women’s kabaddi competitions were also organized during the programme.
Beniwal stated that Haryana’s athletes will fulfill the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini of winning 36 gold medals in Olympic 2036. For this purpose, while athletes are being made aware to stay away from substance abuse, the Olympic Association has also banned gun culture.
Following the deaths of two athletes, the Olympic Association has issued an advisory mandating that a committee will inspect equipment before competitions begin, and if deficiencies are found, notices and action will follow.
